We closely read the poem The Road Not Taken by Robert frost. We circled unfamiliar words, paraphrased and summarized the author's ideas, looked at how words were used to convey a particular mood, and analyzed how punctuation was used to convey meaning. What we came away with was a totally new understanding of what initially seemed to be a challenging and confusing poem. We bring our own experiences and meaning to poetry, which is what makes poetry such an individual and personal experience. Here are some of the big ideas we came away with after close reading Robert Frost's masterpiece, The Road Not Taken. I'm so proud of all the amazing poems you wrote and want to share your work with my future classes. So I will collect your poems through this link.
